Context

This dataset has been created for creating a leaf detector. Currently there are 5.346 annotated leaves, from 1.140 images. If you want to contribute in making this dataset larger, please take a look at the end.

Content

The content of this dataset is images of plants, trees, or even individual leaves. Each image has bounding boxes annotated around each leaf, but only those that can be seen easily (For example, on a tree, not every leaf is annotated because not every leaf is clearly visible).

The images were downloaded from Google Images and Bing Images, and annotated with labelImg (https://github.com/tzutalin/labelImg), and downloaded from https://public.roboflow.ai/object-detection/plantdoc. The latter images are from a dataset where each leaves are annotated based on category (healthy or the disease). I changed the category for each image in that dataset to "leaf", and removed some images that, in my opinion, were not appropriate for this dataset (purple images and corn leaves).

The format for the images that I annotated is 1024x1024, and 416x416 for the dataset from public.roboflow.ai

Every leaf is annotated as "leaf", and thus I didn't create a column in the .csv

Acknowledgements

Because of the origins of the images, some of them could be copyright protected. If you want to remove any of these images from this dataset, please comment below and I will remove it.

1. Sending pictures with trees/plants in which leaves are clearly visible.
2. Annotating those images by yourself by using labelImg and sending the xmls with the pictures
